This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard your information when you visit roarcommerce.co or interact with us through any of our services, including the Roar Commerce Seller Portal (collectively, the “Site”).

 

1. Scope & Applicable Law

This Policy follows the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 of Malaysia (“PDPA 2010”). Where applicable, we also align with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012. By accessing the Site or submitting information to us, you consent to the practices described below.

We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18.

 

3. How We Use Your Data

  1. To evaluate and process seller on-boarding requests.
  2. To operate fulfilment, warehousing, last-mile delivery and return services.
  3. To respond to enquiries, warranty claims and customer-care tickets.
  4. To improve our Site, logistics systems and seller dashboards through analytics.
  5. To assess and recruit talent for roles advertised on the Careers page.
  6. To send operational updates, service notices and marketing messages you have opted in to receive (you may opt out at any time).

We rely on one or more of these legal bases: your consent, performance of a contract, legitimate interest, or compliance with a legal obligation.

 

4. Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use first-party cookies and third-party analytics pixels (e.g., Google Analytics 4) to measure traffic and improve user experience. Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies; doing so may affect Site functionality.

 

5. Disclosures To Third Parties

We never sell your data. We may share it, on a need-to-know basis, with:

  • Logistics & Carrier Partners – for pick-up, delivery, cross-border clearance.
  • Payment & Fraud-Screening Providers – to process marketplace payouts securely.
  • Professional Service Firms – auditors, accountants, legal counsel.
  • Cloud & IT Vendors – hosting, e-mail, applicant-tracking or analytics tools.

Each third party is contractually bound to protect your data to PDPA 2010 standards.

 

6. Cross-Border Transfers

Operational data may be stored on servers located in Malaysia, Singapore or other AWS APAC regions. When data leaves Malaysia, we ensure equivalent protection via standard contractual clauses or other recognised safeguards.

 

7. Data Security

We deploy industry-standard safeguards, including encryption at rest and in transit, multi-factor authentication for internal dashboards and role-based access controls. Despite these measures, no online service is 100% secure.

 

8. Data Retention

  • Seller & operational records – minimum 7 years from end of contract for tax and audit.
  • Recruitment files – up to 24 months after position closure unless you join us.
  • Analytics logs – anonymised after 26 months.

When retention ends, data is deleted or irreversibly anonymised.

 

9. Your Rights

Subject to PDPA 2010 you may:

  1. Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
  2. Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  3. Withdraw consent for processing (where consent is the basis).
  4. Request deletion, restriction or portability of your data (where applicable).

10. Changes To This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the Site and will take effect once posted. Your continued use of the Site signifies acceptance of the revised terms.
